Virginia Required Pre-Requisites & Co-Requisites
The Commonwealth of Virginia's Office of EMS prescribes a number of pre-requisites and co-requisites from all students seeking initial EMT certification. Emergency Training Solutions, LLC is unable to offer exceptions to these requirements.
Pre-requisites must be met prior to the start date of the program:

The student must be 16 years of age or older

The student must be able to perform physical tasks as outlined in the Virginia Office of EMS functional position description

Must provide proof of a current flu vaccination
Virginia Office of EMS Policy TR-35 fully details the requirements for entry into an initial EMS certification program.
Co-requisites which must be completed by the 8th week of class:

Obtain an AHA HeartCode BLS or Red Cross BLS certification. The certification may not expire prior to the end date of the course.

Complete the following online modules: IS-5, IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800, AWR111, and AWR160.
