Noah Hillstrom, NR-P, FC-P
ETS Founder & Program Director
Noah became an EMT in 2002 and started his EMS journey with the Charlottesville-Albemarle Rescue Squad where he recently completed two terms as the agency's chief. He works full time as the Emergency Medical Services Chief for Madison County, Virginia. Noah is passionate about EMS and enjoys working with students on their journey to become EMTs. He has served as the director of the EMT program since 2014.
Joey Carls, MPA, NREMT
Program Coordinator
Joey has been an EMT since 2016 and an EMS Education Coordinator since 2023. He has been assisting with the EMT program since 2017 and has primary responsibility for budget, scheduling, and student records. He was a member of the Charlottesville-Albemarle Rescue Squad for four years where he served as a preceptor, crew captain, and member of the board of directors. Joey has a 15-year career in higher education, currently leading the UVAFinance Solution Center.
J. Forrest Calland, MD
EMS Physician
Dr. Calland serves as our program's physician and provides clinical counsel to the program director and approves the educational and clinical outcomes required for student success.
